Arkansas City man arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery
Wooten also arrested Oct. 5 for theft in connection with robbery at gunpoint
An Arkansas City man was arrested Oct. 5 by the Arkansas City Police Department in connection with an armed robbery that occurred the morning of Oct. 1.
John Douglas Wooten, 29, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and theft.
He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $11,000 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City.
Wooten since has been released on his own recognizance.
Police responded to a robbery report around 8:01 a.m. Oct. 1 and contacted two male victims from Ponca City, Oklahoma, who had been robbed of $3,000 at gunpoint in the 400 block of North C Street.
They identified the male suspect as Wooten, who was located and arrested in connection.
A defendant’s guilt or innocence is to be determined by a court of law.
