Ark City man arrested April 4 on suspicion of drug possession
Delangel-Valdez accused of marijuana, paraphernalia; Marin served warrant
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (April 8, 2019) — The Arkansas City Police Department arrested two Arkansas City residents April 4 on suspicion of drug possession charges and a municipal warrant.
Jesus Alberto Delangel-Valdez, 23, was arrested on suspicion of one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $2,000 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City.
Delangel-Valdez since has posted bond and been released.
Monica Marin, 21, was arrested on an Arkansas City Municipal Court bench warrant for two counts each of dog at large, no animal vaccination tag, and vicious or biting dog, all of which are Arkansas City Municipal Code violations. She later was released on her recognizance.
Officers executed a search warrant around 9 p.m. April 4 at a residence at 1308 South G St.
They immediately detected the odor of marijuana in the residence and eventually located more than 24 grams of suspected marijuana, along with other drug paraphernalia.
A defendant’s guilt or innocence is to be determined by a court of law.
