Sanitation shifts to three-day schedule next week due to holiday
City of Ark City offices closed July 4-5 for Independence Day; to reopen July 8
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (June 27, 2019) — The City of Arkansas City will shift to a three-day sanitation schedule next week due to the closure of all City offices July 4-5 in observance of Independence Day.
The Cowley County Landfill also will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
All of Monday’s route and part of Tuesday’s route will be collected July 1.
The part of Tuesday’s route to be collected Monday is from Madison Avenue south to the Mill Canal, from Summit Street east to E Street and southeast through Sleeth Addition, and from Summit Street east to C Street between Birch Avenue and the C Street Canal.
The remainder of Tuesday’s route, all of Wednesday’s route and part of Thursday’s route will be collected July 2. The part of Thursday’s route to be collected Tuesday is from Birch Avenue north to Kansas Avenue and from Sixth Street west to 15th Street.
The remainder of Thursday’s route and Friday’s entire route will be collected July 3.
All refuse should be placed at normal pickup locations by 6 a.m. on the scheduled day of pickup.
There will be no return pickups. No recycling will be collected July 6.
The F Street Limb Disposal and Compost Site also will be closed July 4-7, reopening July 8 with normal hours.
