Three suspects sought in early morning burglary at Walgreens

Three males broke drive-through window, stole pharmaceuticals from store

Arkansas City Police Department badgeThe Arkansas City Police Department is asking for any information anyone might have in connection with an early morning burglary at a local drugstore.

Three male suspects were observed on video during the burglary. They left the scene in a vehicle of unknown make or model. No other information is known at this time.

Officers responded to a burglary alarm at 3:57 a.m. Aug. 1 at Walgreens, 2100 N. Summit St.

They found the drive-through pharmacy window broken when they arrived. A key holder came to the scene and let them into the building, but they discovered the suspects already had left the store.

Analysis of security video showed two suspects entering the building after using an unknown object to break the window and crawl through it. They took several containers of medication from the shelves.

This burglary follows a pattern of other similar burglaries and thefts that have occurred throughout the Midwest, including in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, police have learned.

Anyone with any information about this crime or any of the three suspects, or who might have seen anything suspicious Aug. 1, is asked to call the Ark City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.
