Police seek young man in connection with robbery of drive-in

White male in his mid-20s took cash from Sonic employees late Oct. 21

 Unknown Image The Arkansas City Police Department is seeking a young man in connection with a robbery of a local restaurant that was reported late Oct. 21.

The suspect is Austin Ty Brownell. He is described as a white male in his mid-20s, wearing a hooded jacket. Police said Brownell last was seen earlier today in Winfield.

Brownell is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, please call 911 immediately.

 Unknown Image Officers were dispatched about 11 p.m. Oct. 21 for a report of a robbery at Sonic Drive-In, located at 1510 N. Summit St.

They learned the suspect had entered the premises and demanded money.

He obtained cash from the employees before leaving through the same door he entered and fleeing in an unknown direction on foot. Pictures of the suspect were obtained from security camera footage.
