ACPD seeks information about firearm stolen from business

Arkansas City Police Department badgeARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 18, 2019) The Arkansas City Police Department is seeking any leads about a Nov. 14 theft of money and a firearm from a local business that was reported last week.

Officers took a report Dec. 12 regarding a possible burglary at Sheldon’s Paw Shop, located at 206 E. Madison Ave.

Police learned from store employees that on or about Nov. 14, unknown persons forced entry into the business and removed cash, checks, and a firearm from the premises.

Two suspects are thought to have entered the business in the nighttime hours. One is described as approximately 6-foot-2 with a thin build, while the second one is described as 5-foot-6 with a heavy build.

“Due to the delayed report, we are trying to play catch-up,” said ACPD Capt. Eric Burr. “One stolen gun on the streets is too many. If the community has information about this crime, please contact us.”
