Police investigating pair of thefts at Zeller, Evergy, Kansas Gas

Automobile parts, other property totaling $7,194 stolen after 10 p.m. Jan. 12

Arkansas City Police Department badgeARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (Jan. 17, 2020) The Arkansas City Police Department is investigating two incidents of theft last week at local businesses, resulting in losses estimated at more than $7,000.

Officers were dispatched Jan. 13 for a theft report at Zeller Motor Company, located at 3021 N. Summit St.  Suspects had entered the property and removed several automobile parts valued at $6,000.

Police then were dispatched to the Evergy and Kansas Gas Service office, located just to the north of Zeller Motors at 3113 N. Summit St., for a similar theft report.

In this incident, suspects forced entry into a fenced lot and removed property valued at $1,194.

The thefts are thought to have taken place sometime after 10 p.m. Jan. 12.

Investigators are following up on leads at this time. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to contact the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.
