Free car seat check lane will be 2-4 p.m. Feb. 13 at Ag Building

Safe Kids offers free inspections; Optimists to grill free hot dogs for participants

Safe Kids Cowley County logoARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (Feb. 6, 2020) Safe Kids Cowley County will be host to a free car seat inspection event on Feb. 13 at the Agri-Business Building, located at 712 W. Washington Ave.

From 2 to 4 p.m., nationally certified technicians will be on hand to help parents and caregivers to install car safety seats properly. A limited number of car seats will be available for those who need them.

“This is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to ensure that the safety seats they are using are installed correctly,” said Police Chief Dan Ward.

New Optimist International logo“The technicians can help to correct any installation issues and identify children who are ready to move up to a new safety device.”

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will receive priority. To schedule an appointment, call (620) 221-1430 extension 5583.

There is no charge to participate in this event. The Optimist Club will be grilling free hot dogs for participants to enjoy while they receive help with their car seats.
