Safe Kids offers free inspections; Optimists to grill free hot dogs for participants
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (Feb. 6, 2020) — Safe Kids Cowley County will be host to a free car seat inspection event on Feb. 13 at the Agri-Business Building, located at 712 W. Washington Ave.
From 2 to 4 p.m., nationally certified technicians will be on hand to help parents and caregivers to install car safety seats properly. A limited number of car seats will be available for those who need them.
This event is proudly sponsored by the Arkansas City Police Department, the Optimist Club of Arkansas City and the City-Cowley County Health Department.
“This is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to ensure that the safety seats they are using are installed correctly,” said Police Chief Dan Ward.
“The technicians can help to correct any installation issues and identify children who are ready to move up to a new safety device.”
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will receive priority. To schedule an appointment, call (620) 221-1430 extension 5583.
There is no charge to participate in this event. The Optimist Club will be grilling free hot dogs for participants to enjoy while they receive help with their car seats.
