Ark City man arrested on suspicion of heroin, meth possession
Lozano also accused of interfering with officer, was wanted on county warrant
An Arkansas City man was arrested early Aug. 2 by the Arkansas City Police Department on a Cowley County warrant and for several drug offenses.
Robert Joseph Lozano, 25, was arrested on suspicion of interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin).
He was transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center for evaluation and cleared, then transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $12,000 bond.
Lozano also was arrested on Cowley County District Court warrant for probation violation. There is no bond on the warrant. He remained in custody at the time of this release.
Officers on patrol around 12:50 a.m. approached three pedestrians in the 700 block of East Kansas Avenue.
One of the people ran southbound, away from the officers.
He later was identified as Lozano.
After learning Lozano was wanted, police located him near the 700 block of East Poplar Avenue.
He was arrested after a short foot pursuit and several controlled substances were found in his possession.
